 My hotel room has a view of the mouth of the River Douro in Porto. There are three hotels here, all owned by the same company, and four car parks with barriers. I parked in one of them and got a ticket from the machine. Apparently all I have to do when I want to leave is get somebody at reception to validate the ticket and the machine will let me out for free. I'm sceptical though because I notice most of the cars in this picture are parked outside the car parks while the car parks themselves are mostly empty. It feels like the owners of these cars know something that I don't.
