I should point out that this is not actually a cycling holiday. I expect my route to be about 13000 km so I don't have time to do it on a bike. I will driving most of the way but I plan to use the bike for some city centres where parking might be difficult.

That gantry is the reason why I have come into Brussels by bike: for some reason, I wasn't able to register my car for the city's low-emission zone.
