 I gave up on using my nice DSLR camera very early in the trip. Apart from it being bulky and fiddly to use, it doesn't have a very powerful zoom. I have found that because of how street name signs are positioned, the best way to get a face-on picture is often to stand a long way away and zoom in. This is what the previous picture looks like when zoomed out.
