 I have noticed ever since Kraków that the bike only had two gears instead of the intended six. That had happened once before so I thought I knew what the problem was. What I expected was that there would be a short chain hanging out of the hole in the middle of that big nut on the rear axel, and that I would just have to reconnect it to the gear cable which is hanging down from the top of the picture. As y see though, the chain has completely disappeared. It looks like I'll be stuck with two gears for the rest of the trip. That just means that I won't be able to ride up any significant hills. By the way, you may also have noticed that the drive chain has slipped off its cogs. That's okay. I can fix that.
